Glede na stopnjo substitucije hidroksipropila jo delimo na nizko substituirano (L-HPC) in visoko substituirano (H-HPC). L-HPC z 9%-15% substitucijo ima dobro preto\u010dnost in stisljivost, zato je idealen kot dezintegrant in vezivo v tabletah.
