Mant\u00e9m a humidade na colagem do azulejo e proporciona uma boa trabalhabilidade.<ul><li>Como agente de reten\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1gua:<ul><li>No caso da argamassa de cimento tradicional, \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio humedecer a parede e molhar os azulejos antes de os colocar. Estes problemas podem ser evitados quando se recorre ao adesivo para azulejos com HPMC, porque este consegue manter a humidade. Al\u00e9m disso, o teor de humidade est\u00e1vel assegura uma viscosidade adequada, tornando o adesivo para azulejos mais f\u00e1cil de espalhar e aplicar.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Como agente espessante:<ul><li>Ao reter a \u00e1gua nas colagens de ladrilhos, o HPMC evita a fissura\u00e7\u00e3o e promove a hidrata\u00e7\u00e3o, especialmente em aplica\u00e7\u00f5es de thinset em que a \u00e1gua do cimento pode evaporar-se facilmente ou ser absorvida pelo substrato e pelos ladrilhos antes de a rea\u00e7\u00e3o estar completa.
