El resultado es un producto que ofrece alta eficacia, p\u00e9rdida de asentamiento controlada, resistencia a la contracci\u00f3n y ning\u00fan efecto adverso sobre el fraguado y endurecimiento del cemento. Los reductores de agua de alto rendimiento basados en policarboxilatos son fundamentalmente diferentes de los reductores de agua de formaldeh\u00eddo de sulfonato de naftaleno (NSF) y de formaldeh\u00eddo de sulfonato de melamina (MSF). Incluso a dosis bajas, confieren una gran fluidez al mortero y al hormig\u00f3n, as\u00ed como una baja viscosidad, y mantienen el asentamiento a bajas relaciones agua-cemento. Presentan una compatibilidad relativamente mejor con diversos tipos de cemento y son materiales indispensables para hormigones de alta resistencia y La cadena principal de la mol\u00e9cula de policarboxilato se adsorbe firmemente en la superficie de las part\u00edculas de cemento, dificultando eficazmente la hidrataci\u00f3n y mejorando la retenci\u00f3n del asentamiento, mientras que las cadenas laterales rodean las part\u00edculas de cemento, proporcionando tanto impedimento est\u00e9rico como repulsi\u00f3n electrost\u00e1tica. Este mecanismo, distinto de la repulsi\u00f3n electrost\u00e1tica utilizada por los reductores de agua tradicionales para dispersar las part\u00edculas de cemento, da como resultado una dispersabilidad y una reducci\u00f3n de agua superiores, elevando en \u00faltima instancia el rendimiento global de los productos de mortero y hormig\u00f3n.<\/p><p>Los reductores de agua a base de policarboxilatos se sintetizan mediante polimerizaci\u00f3n de radicales libres en soluci\u00f3n acuosa, contienen un m\u00ednimo de iones cloruro y s\u00f3lo requieren una peque\u00f1a cantidad de \u00e1lcali para su neutralizaci\u00f3n, lo que da lugar a un contenido muy bajo de \u00e1lcali. En cambio, el contenido de \u00e1lcali de los reductores de agua a base de naftaleno var\u00eda significativamente debido a las diferencias en los procesos de sulfonaci\u00f3n.<\/p><p>El \u00e1lcali es un factor primario en las reacciones \u00e1lcali-agregado (AAR), que han causado numerosos casos de deterioro del hormig\u00f3n en todo el mundo. Los \u00e1lcalis en el hormig\u00f3n proceden principalmente del cemento, las cenizas volantes, los reductores de agua y otras materias primas. En todo el mundo se hace mucho hincapi\u00e9 en controlar el contenido de \u00e1lcali.
