Esta diferencia crea una tensi\u00f3n de tracci\u00f3n en la superficie. Cuando la tensi\u00f3n supera el l\u00edmite de tracci\u00f3n, se producen grietas. Por lo tanto, la tensi\u00f3n causada por la contracci\u00f3n en fr\u00edo puede superar f\u00e1cilmente la resistencia a la tracci\u00f3n del hormig\u00f3n.
